Competency Training Manual

The purpose of this manual is to assess and verify the competency of direct care service provider applicant.

Each applicant must take the Competency Examination and pass with 75% score. VMG will accept previous applicant competency test administered within the past 12 months by a previous employer. Verification is needed in order to pass this portion of the hiring process.

The competency examination will be administered by VMG Human Resources personnel.

Should an applicant not pass the test, VMG will train the applicant and retake the tests to ensure the home care direct care service provider competency. VMG will perform annual competency reviews and more frequently when discipline or other sanction, including, for example, a verbal warning or suspension, is imposed because of a quality of care infraction. (Regulation - 611.55)
